The Australian Open 2010 will be one to remember - a significant stepping stone in the career of our big man. John made his deepest run yet in a Grand Slam, just shy of a quarterfinal bout with Nadal. In his first round of 16 match, Isner fell to world #4 and British hopeful Andy Murray, seeded #5 in the draw.
The first set was real tight - it went to a tiebreaker, and Isner went up a minibreak, only to lose his edge with a crucial forehand error, and an ill-timed dropshot serving 4-6 down that gave Murray the break. Murray, now filled with confidence, rolled with the next two sets, 6-3, 6-2.
Isner entered Sunday's match with the most aces in the game. Most players, including Murray, consider him to have the best serve on tour. What separates him from the other tower of power - Dr. Ivo (Ivo Karlovitch, 6'10"), is his ability to kick his serve out wide. He also has a stronger ground game, which is why we expect the big Iz to be a force in the top 20 soon. Keep coming out and supporting John!! Stay tuned for the Indian Wells and Miami Masters series stateside next.

Hi John
It's a pleasure to see that you are now Top 25. Nice reward. I discovered you at the Indian Wells tournament, and I had liked your style. It's fantastic to follow your progression since one year. I hope your tennis will become stronger and stronger.
Dearly,
Armand, from Switzerland
