How to hit an overhead

Isner Tennis Lesson: The Overhead

First of all, let me preface this by saying that this is meant in fun.  John himself was laughing after flopping on this shot.  If anyone watched the Isner vs. Roddick final at the Legg Mason Classic in Washington you'll know what I'm referring to.

At one point in the match Roddick sends a ball high up in the air, which slowly makes its way back down onto Isner's side of the court, within a couple feet of the net, and bouncing high - a classic sitter.  So much of a sitter that you could have made this overhead with a broomstick.

Isner, in classic Bulldog, you're-about-to-chew-on-this-ball-6.9-foot-overhead fashion, sneaks up to the overhead in rather comical fashion, only to take a half-ass swing and net the ball.

Okay, so maybe it wasn't that funny - but worth a quick blog posting Eye-wink
